I remember when I first started working as a chef and it was at a catering company. The owner had a small business and he was getting older. It was just him and the occasional culinary school student intern. I remember him telling me that he couldn’t take a day off or really go on vacation because if he stopped, the money stopped. At one point he even asked me if he could sell me his business so that he could retire. He had no other options.
It was at that point that I knew if I wanted to stay in the culinary field, which I loved, I was going to have to find a way to do it, that wouldn’t have me working every single night, weekend and holiday. I knew I needed a business model that didn’t have me trapped.
I wanted to work in a way that was congruent with why I fell in love with cooking in the first place; spending time with my family and friends over a good meal.
I didn’t want to end up like they guy I was working for, STUCK, TIRED, getting older and owning a business that really owned me.
I knew there had to be a better way than just owning a catering company or being a personal chef.
And there was.

The biggest challenged that I have faced in my business is how I thought about things. Whether it was what I thought about how much effort was required, getting clients, confidence in my abilities or what I believed was possible, managing my self talk and being mindful of my thoughts have made all the difference in my businesses.
My goal is to help you become a better cook, #EatOutAtHome more and show you how to host dinner parties that will literally CHANGE LIVES, like seriously. Just consider me your secret ingredient.
I started cooking when I was 6 years old. I know right??? It was crazy then too. I’ll tell you the entire story another time. I have always had a love for food and that led me to cooking my first Thanksgiving dinner for my family (all by myself) at age 12. By the time I was 15 years old, I was selling my home made pound cakes. But it would be over a a decade, (and two engineering degrees) later that I realized that I wanted to be in food as a career and as a lifestyle. After going to culinary school (savory and pastry), trying my hand at catering, being a personal and private chef, a pastry chef, doing meal planning and some culinary research and development, I found that I was most passionate about teaching others how to enjoy cooking. So now I spend my time teaching online cooking classes and sharing my tips and techniques on how to make cooking stress free to anyone who is willing to listen.
